Muhammad Abdusalam Abu Sunaina – May Allah have mercy on him

<p>Sheikh Ali Shanan was born in Tripoli in 1939 in the Qaws al-Mufti district, with roots tracing back to Zliten. He memorized the Holy Qur’an at a young age in the Qalun narration under Sheikh Mukhtar Houriya and studied Sharia sciences at the Ahmed Pasha Institute under a group of elite scholars.<br /> He was widely recognized for his membership in both local and international judging committees for Qur’anic competitions, particularly across the Asian continent. He left behind a recorded complete recitation (Khatmah) in the Qalun narration and educational programs on Tajweed sciences that are still broadcast on the Holy Quran Radio. He passed away in 2002 and was buried in the Sidi Munaidhar cemetery in Tripoli.</p>
