<p>Sheikh Muhammad al-Mabrouk al-Lafi was a revered Libyan scholar and judge, born in the “Al-Sabaa” district of Zliten in 1932. He began his scholarly journey by memorizing the Holy Qur’an in Zliten, then studied at the Asmariya Mosque before traveling to Egypt to join the Faculty of Sharia at Al-Azhar Al-Sharif in 1952.<br /> Upon returning to Libya with his higher degree in 1956, he entered the judiciary, rising through the ranks with distinction until he became the President of the Tripoli Court of Appeal. The Sheikh was well known for his extensive advocacy (Dawah) work; he presented guidance programs on the Holy Qur’an Radio and television and was famous for his lessons on Tafsir (exegesis) and the Prophetic Biography (Sira) in Tripoli’s mosques, particularly the Al-Hamali and Bin Naji mosques.<br /> Sheikh Al-Lafi left behind a rich legacy of religious writings, specifically in the jurisprudence of worship (Fiqh al-Ibadat). He remained a beacon of knowledge and guidance until his passing in Tripoli on March 29, 2020, at the age of nearly ninety.</p>
